Beihai, designated as one of China's Top Tourist Cities, is a famous health, holiday and winter resort with typical subtropical beach scenery. The well-known Beihai Silver Beach, which has been rebuilt and returned to nature, boasts white and soft sands, clean seawater, genial sunshine and fresh air, no sharks in the vicinity sea area, so, it's quite safe for swimmers. Other famous attractions include the Weizhou Island, the biggest volcanic island in China, the National Ocean Nature Conservation Area --- the Mangroves, the Xingdaohu Lake with nature beauty of lakes and mountains, as well as the Beihai Pearl, also known as the South China Pearl, is the most beautiful and famous one in the world.

Primarily the silvery beach of Baihutou, or White Tiger's Head, when we look from the map, it just looks like a white tiger with mouth-open, attracts most visitors for a visit to Beihai.

Besides swimming and sunbathing, Silver Beach also offers water sports such as jet skiing, boating, beach volleyball, soccer, golf, and camel riding and horse riding. On top of that, you can find many seafood restaurants nearby.

In the very center of the city is the Beibu Gulf Square, dominated by a group of towering sculptures, Soul of the Southern Pearl. Three huge pearl shells, 15 meters tall, with a huge pearl 1.4 meters in diameter in the center, emerge from the center of this group of sculptures. Surrounding the shells is a fountain designed to symbolize the sea, decorated with three vivid bronze statues of figures taken from local folk tales, the Immortal, Qiu Ran (or Dragon Whiskers) riding on a sea horse; the Son of the Sea striding a divine turtle and blowing on a conch, and the Pearl Goddess lying on the back of a strange fish with a pearl in her palm. Like the pearl itself, these figures are a symbol of Beihai City.)
